How To Use a Self-Serve Pet Wash

If you have a dog, especially a medium to large size dog, you know how messy and challenging it can be to wash your dog in the tub.  In the Summer you may be able to wash your dog down with the garden hose, but that water is usually very cold water.  In the Winter, the garden hose is definitely not an option.

That’s why visiting a Pet Wash is a great option for giving your dog a warm and thorough bath.  You can actually wash your cat too, if you’re brave enough, or any other animal that is no larger than a very large dog.

Reasons to Use a DIY Pet Wash

Using a self-serve pet wash is much more comfortable then leaning over the bathtub at home since the pet wash station is a waist-level.  Also, you don’t need to worry about bringing your own shampoo.  The do-it-yourself wash station is super convenient since you can dispense the water, shampoos and conditioner all through the single hose nozzle.  You just push the button for whichever selection you like as you switch between pre-soak, soap and rinse your pet.  At Dusty’s Pet Wash, you can even blow-dry your dog and vacuum him/her as well.  All the following are included in the price of the Pet Wash:

  • Puppy Shampoo
  • Dog Shampoo
  • Flea and Tick Treatment
  • Skunk Odor Remover Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Water
  • Pet Vacuum
  • Pet Hair Dryer

To use the Pet Wash, just walk your pet up the ramp to the wash stainless steel wash tub.  The tub has a rubber mat that prevents you pooch from slipping.  At Dusty’s, we also include a short lead that you can connect to your dog’s collar so they stay put in the wash tub.  There is also a gate that you can pull shut behind you in the Pet Wash area to keep your pet(s) contained in the room.  This especially helps when you bring more than one furry friend.

How Do I Pay for the Wash?

To run the machine, most machines accept quarters, bills or a credit/debit card.  There is a minimum amount of coins or bills needed to start the machine.  Then, you can add more quarters or bills as needed.  If you use a credit or debit card, you just swipe your card and the machine will keep track of your time until you push the Stop button.  If you plan to visit Dusty’s Pet Wash, you can view the current price on our Pet Wash page on DustysWash.com.

Where Can I Find a Dog Wash?

There are a number of different places you can find a DIY Pet Wash.  Many pet stores have a Pet Wash inside the store.  The cost to use those locations is usually more than the Pet Wash at Dusty’s however.  You may want to compare prices before visiting a dog wash.
